MONA CHEVIS

ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

Mona Chevis

A native of Hamlet, North Carolina, Mona volunteered a great deal as a teenager at the request (demand) of her mother; from volunteering as the President of the youth chapter of the NAACP to spending Saturday afternoon volunteering at church. At that time, she didn’t realize how volunteering would become an important and necessary part of who she would become and how she would later develop a deep passion for charitable work.

Mona is one part Project Manager, one part wife and two parts mother of a 10 year old and a 18 year old. She serves as President of the PTA for her elementary school aged son, Treasurer of PTSA for her high school aged son, member of the Advisory Council for Knightdale High School’s Counseling Department and a member of the North Carolina Chapter of the Project Management Institute (NCPMI).

Mona spends her weekends traveling with family, reading, binge watching Crime shows and catching up on housework that she has neglected all week. Besides giving back to her community, she is also passionate about The Carolina Panthers! Mona is most proud that she is setting an example of “community” for her 2 sons and hopes they will leave their print on the world through philanthropy.

Mona lives and guides her family by the motto “to which much is given, much is required!”

KIMBERLY MOORE

ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

Kimberly Moore

If there was one word that Kim feels embodies her personality, her outlook and her experiences, it would have to be the word, quality. She states “I want quality relationships with quality people. I want my work to be a reflection of my passion and skill. I want my life to be rich with meaningful adventures”.

Kim’s first priority is to be a great mom to her two smart, witty, high-energy girls. She wants them to have a quality upbringing in terms of their education, their personal growth and the amount of fun they have as a family. Whether it’s an impromptu, extra-loud dance party, or helping her oldest start a t-shirt business, she makes sure that they are living life to the fullest and making the most of their opportunities.

In her work as a marketer, she develops plans and strategies to help to influence consumers. When she reviews her work or the work of her team, she always ask, “Is this our best effort?” She wants them to be proud of what they’d done and she wants it to be quality work that meets objectives.

One of her passions is helping to raise awareness and provide education regarding opioid abuse and addiction to prescription medicines. She serves in a program at work that is focused on solutions to combat the problem in our communities. Sharing solutions is very rewarding to her.

Kim values quality relationships and is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The women in her sorority are her family. “We’ve shared our lives for many, many years” she says. “We also seek out opportunities to help the community and improve the lives of others”.

Kim also says “People see my calm demeanor and my easy smile and wonder what inspires me to be so positive. My motto is be grateful. Where there is gratefulness, no other negative feeling can exist. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. And I’m grateful for the opportunities to come”.
